Cookbuk stores your recipes and preferences exclusively on your device using Android's local storage (AsyncStorage). No account, no cloud sync, no server-side storage.
Cookbuk v0.1 requires no system permissions. Recipe text is entered directly in the app — there is no camera or file access.
You can delete recipes individually within the app at any time. To remove all app data locally, go to: Android Settings → Apps → Cookbuk → Storage → Clear data
To delete your server-side data (v0.2+ import feature), open Settings → Data & Privacy → Clear my server data inside the app. This removes your device ID, import URLs, timestamps, and usage counters from our backend.
Starting with v0.2, you can optionally import recipes from web URLs
via our backend at api.cookbuk.kikomedystudio.ch. This
feature is opt-in — the service is only called when you tap
Import → From web link.
What is sent to the server:
What the server does:
What is NOT stored: the recipe content itself is sent back to your device and not retained on the server. No personal identifiers (name, email, IP-address-to-identity link, location) are stored. The HTTPS connection terminates at our server; request logs are kept only for standard operational reasons and rotated after 14 days.
AI provider: recipe text extracted from the webpage may be sent to Anthropic (Claude Haiku 4.5 API) as a single stateless request. Anthropic's commercial API does not train on your data. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
